Grey Lodge's Sweet (& Sour) 16
last update: Fri, 10 Aug 2012
16 years! Can you believe it? We have been doing this for a really long time.
It's our Sweet 16! Being us we can't just have a regular Sweet 16, it's a Sweet (& Sour) 16!.. with lots of sour beers on tap.

For our 10th anniversary, we had a 5-day weekend of the greatest hits of Grey Lodge events. For our 13th anniversary, we did 13 events in 13 hours, all in one day. Which was a lot of fun but ain't no way we are ever doing 13 hours of events in one day again.
For this anniversary, we are breaking out some super rare sour beer, which is probably the most extreme beer style. Several of these beers we have been holding onto for years!
In addition to really amazing sour beers, we will have cake, prizes, and other party type fun. We also will have a greatest hits of canned beers, if you need a break from sours.
We hope friends old and new can join us for this party.
Beer
Draft Beers:
Man do we have a selection ranging from accessible to extreme, from local to far away, from reasonably priced to crazy expensive.
Allagash Vrienden - one of the last known sixtels of this New Belgium/Allagash 2011 collaberation.
Dogfish Head Festina Peche - this spring seasonal combines a traditional Berliner Weisse with peaches.
Goose Island Sophie - fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel.
Ithaca White Gold - we have aged this one for a year at least, maybe more.
Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga - a pale ale with a little bit of funk in the trunk.
Petrus Aged Pale Ale - we have been aging this one close to a year now.
Round Guys Wild Eyes #2 - light souring with Brett and Lacto-bacilus complements the fruity tripel with refreshing tartness.
Round Guys Wild Eyes #3 - based off their Blonde, they used a more neutral base yeast, adding the lacto/wild strains toward the end.
Stoudts 5025 - a sour quad to celebrate Stoudts' 25th Anniversary. This is a rare one.
Vicaris Triple Gueuze - the most expensive beer we have ever bought, but what the heck, you only turn 16 once. This is a real Belgian triple blended with real Belgian gueuze, which is a blend of year vintages of lambic.
Bottles:
Sierra Nevada/Russian River Brux, their collaberation with Russian River, 25oz.

21st Amendment Hell or High Water
21st Amendment Monks Blood
